Wouldn't surprise me, I was surprised to learn that Sony doesn't make one LCD on all of their xbrite laptops. Sharp Does.

Does this have anything to do with their pricing and utilization of the latest SoC platform? A $299 BD player would be number one before the holidays...

Nope, they are made by a joint venture called S-LCD. Samsung and Sony effectively have a 50:50 partnership in this company.

All the money came from Samsung, and all the IP came from Sony.

Question is, will it pick up on the post-October 1.1 Profile ball dropped by Samsung, so we can finally get this party started?

(And my first LCD was a Sharp, and if the player is an Aquos, I'm already sold.)
