This one manged to slip under my radar. Love this film, it's all a bit cheesy (the bit with the dog being saved) but the special effects are pretty good. I bought the R4 DVD when it was released as it had DTS and extras, unlike our rather poor DVD version. I can't find any info on extras for the Blu-ray, does anyone know if it actually has any? Even the VHS had a little 15 minute making of.

the original UK DVD was a bare bones disc. the dts re-release (little logo in bottom corner) included some special features i think. i had the old R1 DTS version for the full bitrate dts track.
Got the UK BD last week. haven't got round to watching it yet (such a fan of this film and have seen it so many times) but when i spun it, this wins the aware for worst menu hands down!!! It's just little symbols like in the early days of DVD! now lets see when Stallone's Daylight get's released on BD! |

Yep, I ordered it for that price too, and got it in the other day. I just had to pop it in and see how it looks.
PQ's a little dark maybe, and it is rather grainy, but I was still very pleased with the sharpness and detail of it. Sound quality seemed decent enough. Seems like a worthy upgrade; the SFX are still gorgeous! ![]() Didn't see any extras listed so I'm holding onto my US DVD. |

I bought the DVD a while ago in ASDA for £2. It was the DTS version and its special features were:
Getting Closer to the Show - The making of Dante's Peak Feature Commentary Production Storyboards Production Design Sketches Theatrical Trailer Storyboard to Scene Comparisons Film Sequences Poster Campaign Not bad for a couple of quid, I haven't watched it but its one of those films if it's on TV it will stay on. And I've always liked Linda Hamilton. |
