Default Skins

Skins is a British teen drama that follows a group of teenagers in Bristol, South West England, through the two years of sixth form. The controversial plot line explores issues such as dysfunctional families, mental illness (including eating disorders), sexual orientation identity, substance abuse and death.

Just started watching this show and already finished series 1 and on the 4th episode of series 2. Can't believe that
[Show spoiler]Tony got hit by the bus like that at the end of series 1 and that Sid's Dad just died
. Can't wait to see what else happens next and this Summer when the movie comes out.

Yeah it's really addicting I stayed up till like 3 in the morning watching it. Really happy it's been renewed till a 6th series so we get Skins till 2012 now and I bet it could even go past a 6th series.

What does "through the two years of sixth form" mean? Is sixth form something they call school or is some supernatural thing?

It's a school thing, I don't completely understand, perhaps a Brit will come in and explain. Nothing supernatural.

Yeah it's a school thing like are high schools but they have forms or something not 100% but something like that. But the characters are generally 16-17 for this show I think.

Just finished series 2 and wow I really liked how the story's ended but can't believe that
[Show spoiler]Chris died
. Loved how each character pretty much had an ending for there arc. Watched the first episode of series 3 and I really liked it and can't wait to see where it goes from there.

I've been watching it on Bold HD here in Canada. Love how risque the show is and what they get away with! Definitely lots of "skin" shown and it is a very sexual show. However some episodes I've seen (haven't been watching in any chronological order) are very artistic and feature some great music! Great show, wish it were on blu-ray so I could collect the series and watch them in sequence.

Yeah I really like how risque the show is while other shows about teenage life would never do anything like what they do on skins. I really hope we start getting the new series on Blu-ray and hopefully the movie also.

Did Nicholaus Hoult leave the series? I've seen some newer ones and I don't think he was in any of them.

[Show spoiler] Not sure where you are with the series but in Skins it's kinda different where they get a new group of teens after every 2 series/seasons. So after season 2 and starting with 3 it's a new group of teens. It goes like this

Series 1-2- First group of teens
Series 3-4- Second group of teens
Series 5-6- Third group of teens

Not really a spoiler depending on you're definition I would guess.

ah, thanks detective.

I would buy the DVDs here since there are no blu-rays, however at every retailer here they want $50 or more per season, so it's not purchasable for me yet!

That's weird as BB.com wants $35 same with the store I go to but yeah I still think that's pretty expensive for only 8 episodes for the first series and 10 for the rest when I can get a full 22 episode season for $5 or $10 more.

Yeah I'll be watching more tonight but I kinda had a feeling I would like this group judging on pictures and things but the 3rd group that starts next year has me a little worried as they just don't really seem to interest me right now but maybe seeing a trailer or something will change my mind. In the 1st episode of series 3 I really liked how they opened
[Show spoiler]Sid's locker and found his stuff
.

Just finished series 3 and 4 and wow I think the show got better with these 2 series then the first 2. I really liked this group way more then the 1st group and think the stories were better more edge of you're seat kinda things and really changed things for them. I'm still shocked that at the end
[Show spoiler]Freddie was killed and it ended on a cliffhanger with Cook attacking the guy that killed him
. I really hope the movie takes place after series 4 so we find out what happened with everyone and not before the end of series 4 where we get no real resolution.

spoiler is from series 4
