Default Dances with Wolves - January 11th

Dances with Wolves Blu-ray

Dances with Wolves Blu-ray Review

http://www.thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents

Quote:
And Fox and MGM have set a Dances with Wolves: 20th Anniversary Edition and Raging Bill: 30th Anniversary Edition for release on Blu-ray on 1/11/11 (SRP $29.99 each). Dances with Wolves will be the extended cut of the film, with 7.1 DTS-HD MA audio. Most of the previous DVD extras will be included on these Blu-rays, along with newly-produced material. I'll have a more detailed list of the contents for you tomorrow.
I will be hugely disappointed if it is Extended Cut only.

Slipcover - Most likely check.

Seriously though, why only include the Extended Cut? For a 20th anniversary edition you'd think they'd include both.

Hopefull Bill Hunts wording was just off, and the theatrical cut will be present in the official specs.

Dang, I recently bought the UK version. If the US version is Extended Cut only, I guess I'll keep my UK version and get the US version.

Hooray! Now we can get the movie that should've lost to Goodfellas at the Oscars. Yippy...

It may have a wacky cover like the extended dvd release.

Little velcro strap to open a front lid on the cover.

Actually, it could be a Digibook like the Target Sound of Music release

Yeah, looks like a Digibook. And woot if so. The Rocky Horror one from Fox was great.

Also glad that it's the extended cut. It plays much better than the cut down version.

I don't like that cover design. Maybe if the picture of Kevin Costner wasn't on it, and it was just designed to look like a journal, then, maybe.

I was sold till they stated Extended Cut. Not that I'd mind having it, but it's the Theatrical that's better.

Which version is better is down to personal preference, but don't you agree that both cuts should be presented, since this is likely to be the "ultimate" home video release of the movie?

I would be nice to have the theatrical and extended cut on the same disc, but I already own the UK region free theatrical version, so I can always get this too to cover all the bases.

Finally a reason to get rid of my clunky DVD. I'll probably wait for a price drop, which won't take long since it is being released after Christmas.

Research AND importing lets you have custom multi-disc editions at your hearts content.

Well, for one, it would be nice to get both versions without having to pay for two new releases.

I'm still just happy to replace yet another of my dvds. I thought December looked like it was going to be expensive, but when the dust settles and more new releases also fall into January (along with a plethora of catalogs already), I think I may be buying more new, not discounted or on sale blus that month than ever before.

Finally! I can not wait for this to come out. I do not like imports so I waited for this. I will be upgrading from my dvd also.

Pretty cool. The extended cut definatley shits over the original version. Though the original version is more time friendly than the extended. But awesome nonetheless!

Oh my. I can't wait for this. I hope it's a good transfer and that both versions of the film are on the disc.
