Hmm, I'm tempted, because I never bought either of the Universal/Mediumrare Blu-rays, as I understood them to be the R-rated version. If Turbine really is releasing the Unrated version (and not just the R-rated version, which was originally cut in Germany), and obviously with the best set of extras to boot, then I may have to buy a copy...

I bought a cheap second hand copy of the Unrated DVD last summer...

There were no stains on it.

They actually do. Turbine actually lists it as a "World premiere of the unrated version on BluRay".

As far as dystopian future action movies with a stunning lead kicking ass go this is a fun movie. I'll probably add it to my collection.

Nice never knew an unrated cut existed. I had the old R1 dvd which had the outakes on.

I doubt it. The Universal BDs run 98 minutes (1:38:20). I haven't checked my copy, but DVDCompare says the Unrated R1 NTSC DVDs run just over 100 minutes, which matches perfectly with the missing run time accounted for in the Movie-Censorship comparison. If Universal had included the so-called "Sexy Outtakes" extra (a whopping 9+ minute version of Anderson's opening strip sequence), which is on the 1999 Polygram R1 Unrated DVD (and it seems, a 2002 Universal re-release), then that would have gone a long way towards the Blu-ray actually containing the Unrated version, just with a new MPAA R rating. However, the film only has its original 1996 R rating, and Universal didn't include the "unrated" extra, which is another indication that the disc was only ever intended to be the R-rated version.

Finally, on German-language forums, there seems to have been some issue with whether or not the film elements for the Unrated version even survive, and I suppose it's possible that they could be upscaled SD inserts on Turbine's Blu-ray, but I may be mis-interpreting the Google-translated German I am reading, so hopefully, they can stop by and clarify this point.
