I'm wondering if I should order the movie online at amazon for $24,99 or buy it in my country (The Netherlands) for €40,99
I can't really tell if the dutch release has the exact same extras or not. Also if I order from amazon, how big are the chances the extras are region free. I read in the US section the back cover of another special edition says ABC and B (which would be an european version) Does anyone know exactly? Last edited by Socko; 11-16-2010 at 05:27 PM. |

Hi gang, new guy here. I hope you can give me a little advice or reassurance.
I purchased the new Extended edition of Avatar (in Denmark - I assume European version), and first thing I popped in the machine was disk two. We watched about half of it, and turned the machine off. Later, starting it up to continue viewing, I now suddenly get the red screen saying I need a firmware update for my player (a Samsung BD-P3600). When checking the other disks, disk 1 gave me same "error" and disk 3 played just fine. Now, I understand that an update can be needed. I had that problem with the first Avatar blu-ray, and updated without a hitch. This time around, no update is available, and the system tells me I am all up to date. Can we expect Samsung to do a firmware update just because of a new title, or will this have to sit on my movie shelf and wait for Samsung to get going sometime down the line? And how is it possible for the player to suddenly realize that it needs a firmware upgrade AFTER it already played a disk? I hope some of you guys can help me out on this, as this drives me nuts. I just bought the movie, all excited to see it, and I can not. ![]() Please help. Best regards, Keld Petersen, Denmark. |

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem? On Disc 3 in the Production Shorts. When I play "Editing" at about 03:18 there's a slight glitch with the video which throws off the audio slightly. It's only a slight problem, just wondering if it's just me.
