So can anyone confirm what the audio specs are like on this? Anyone get this one yet?

Want to know if its the original release or the lossless audio re-released disc with PCM / TrueHD on it.

Well I have been reading that others have received the Dark Knight Steelbook already, so was hoping a few might have ordered this as well and already gotten it.

that is the future shop dark knight, not new re-release

Really ??? But I thought some people got the new re-released one from Axel. I mean don't they need to ship these things out now so they arrive to people on the 23rd? It's only logically to assume some would get it before street date. Which is what I am counting on.

Oh my bad. Well hopefully someone will get the new one soon and let us all know. If it is on the 23rd that someone will be me.

the superman release would have the newest audio and what not. pretty sure they stopped production on the original crappy release when they re released it with the superior audio. so why re release a steelbook way later without the updated audio? makes no sense. the steel is gonna have true hd.

Totally agree with the logic ... but unfortunately I have seen stranger things happen before. Like what if they had a surplus of discs, via returned copies (Since they litter most stores I go into), and just removed those from their original cases and put them into the SteelBooks. This is my fear.

Best Buy has Superman Returns (amaray) on sale for $14.99. I looked through all 10 copies and they were all the old crappy releases... ridiculous!

If this doesn't feature lossless audio, will put the disc for sale and slip in the dvdcrave.com.au OZ disc which features PCM + TrueHD.

I've had this on pre-order for awhile and it finally shipped. Can't wait to have it in hand, maybe tomorrow or Friday. I'm not concerned whether it's the DD or PCM release since I already have the TrueHD/PCM version, but it would be nice and I assume it is the better version.

BAD NEWS ... NO Lossless Audio. This was the original release with Lossy Dolby Digital 5.1.

Dammit.

Looks like WB is still trying to get rid of those first editions.

I looked on the back of all them being sold at FutureShop today. All of them had the 5.1 Lossy Audio listed. NO TRUE-HD or PCM.

Pretty certain they would have listed the specs correctly. They basically are trying to sell you the crappy copy with a nice steelbook.

Obviously I passed on it. Got the Departed Steelbook instead.

Extremely doubt they would screw that up. But you never know.

Personally wasn't going to take the risk. But honestly it doesn't surprise me. They had a ton of copies of the original to off-load. What better way then to put it into a shiny steelbook to get people to look past the lack of HD Audio.

Man! That sure doesn't make sense! The lossless version has been out since later half of 2008! That means they still had old DD version from 2006 on hand?!

Well they did this with the 300 Steelbook too (NOT THE COMPLETE EXPERIENCE edition). So obviously it seems like they are trying to get rid of old stock of that too.

It's too bad really ... I would have bought it ... but alas. No HD Audio NO sale.
