Anyone know any other titles that is owned by Paramount or Universal that is available on BD overseas? If so, anyone know if they are region free?

I would like to know as well. If I wanted to purchase a movie that is exclusive to HD DVD, how would I go about doing this? My idea is check who the distributor is on IMDB and then search...where? Amazon for each country?

Face/Off from Paramount and Bruce Almighty from Universal come to mind. Face/Off is out now in Japan and will be available in the UK on 10/01/07.
I believe Bruce Almighty is already available in the UK now. They both should be region free.

Yeah, I got a German import version of The Island (Die Insel). It looks good, but only has Dolby Digital sound which is a little bit of a downer.

http://bluray.lindsite.dk/ - don't think this one is all inclusive.
Also, you can go to Amazon.com/uk and when you select the movie you are interested in it will often tell you about the region coding about 1/2 way down the page.

Bruce Almighty (Universal via BVHE) - Even has the Universal Earth opening

Face/Off (Paramount via BVHE) - Coming soon. AVC + LPCM!

So far all of BVHEs catalog out of the UK are region free. I also have The Rock, Crimson Tide and Starship Troopers.

There have been people posting here that say the "the crow" is region B. not "all region"

I would want to make sure on that before importing this.

I just got a confirmation email from hdaddicts.com that they'll have Starship Troopers (UK Import) in stock in a few days and that they're waiting for confirmation about Face/Off (UK Import) being region free before they start carrying that title. Well that and the October 1st UK release date.

So, anyone in the US or Canada that wants these, you now know where to go.

Is there much of a difference between NTSC and PAL? Also, is there any true feature difference between UK releases vs. what is expected to be released in the US?

PAL has the higher resoulution (720x576 vs. 720x480, with different pixel aspect ratios), but that is a non issue with HD. HD movies are typically encoded at 1920x1080 either progressive or interlaced. Feature differences include different language tracks (and quality in such) as well as skipped bonus features.
