Default Glory Daze (on TBS)

Has anybody seen the first two episodes? Just wondering what you guys think. I like it. Even though it's 2 episodes I'm more hooked on this than Greek.

Greek felt like The OC mixed with One Tree Hill. As far as how it felt. (dramatic). Glory Daze is more on the comedy side. It feels like the new Undeclared.

I liked the first episode even though I thought it was "borrowing" more heavily from 80's classics like Animal House and Revenge of the Nerds than I would have preferred. But I really felt like I lost a lot of interest by week 2. I might watch another week, but not sure what to make of it. Like I mentioned it seems like just a complete rehash of all the 80's frat movies which did it much better, and that's a problem with setting your frat comedy in the 80's now. I've never seen Greek though, and have no idea what it is so I can't compare that.

I have a friend who is a side character on Greek.

The previews with the kid branding himself were stupid, so I never gave this a chance.

The last time I saw the kid who branded himself, was when he played another obnoxious idiot in the 80's in the Jesse Eisenberg movie Adventureland. So I felt like I'd already seen his character.

i thought that scene was funny. They were making them think they were going to. The guy who was holding it originally showed them his brand. Turned out it was a fake.

What was bugging me about the first episode was they acted and hung around each other like they were best friends from High School. Don't know if they are.

They where introducing themselves so I'm pretty sure none of them knew each other prior, or more than likely they would have put in roommate requests.

It would be awesome if Glory Daze would be released on Blu.

Can't say I'm too suprised that it was cancelled. I liked the first episode as it made good use of '80s hits and captured the era okay. I noticed after the first episode they included less music, sometimes not even including any songs from the '80s, and other times using remakes. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with the show. I'm a huge '80s junky and really wanted to like this show. I'll be in line for Take Me Home Tonight when it comes out next week. I hope it can deliver on the era.
