Yes, all GameCube games are compatible.

As for what Wii games to buy goes... That depends on your taste. I'm a big Sims fan, so Castaway was one of my first purchases. If you like The Sims, it is a really fun title. It's actually good even if you don't like the Sims because it's more of an adventure/exploration game.

The Resident Evil updates and exclusives for the Wii are great too, if they're your thing.

Other than that, I would stick with the Nintendo classic franchises, like Mario/Mario Kart, Zelda, Metroid, etc, until you find others that interest you.

Thanks for your help.

Long story short. I sold my original wii back in the summer. But then I decided Ill only get another if I can get the red wii. If I cant, Ill just pass. Well I went ahead and bought it. I was able to get a free 2000 point card with it.

Still not 100% sure Ill keep it. I still cant make my mind up lol. But I couldnt pass on getting the $20 card for free.

While I want, Mario Galaxy 2, Donkey Kong, etc. My biggest problem is they take Classic versions like Donkey Kong. Make it almost identical to the orginal but add(shake your wiimote type stuff).

If you're a hardcore gamer, you'll want...

Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
New Super Mario Bros
Mario Kart Wii
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Kirby's Epic Yarn
No More Heroes
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
MadWorld

Of course if you're a casual gamer yourself, I'd recommend the Wii Sports games.

Oh, and yes. All GameCube games are compatible with the Wii.

Agreed. I would add Goldeneye, The Conduit (number two is also out soon and looks excellent), Red Steel 2 (the first one is bad though) and Black Ops.

I just got a Wii for Christmas, I used to love the Madden games for the older platforms. I have heard conflicting reviews of the new madden (11) versus the older versions for the Wii, should I get the newest version or get one of the older ones Preowned?

What type of games do you like?

My rule of thumb when it comes to Nintendo consoles is first party all the way. Meaning:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
New Super Mario Bros.
Punch Out!
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

I'd also throw Resident Evil 4 out there if you haven't already played it on PS2 or Gamecube.
