Default Your Favorite American Classic Rock Band?

Lately i've been listening to alot of American classic rock, and i wanted to see who your favorite classic American (no Beatles or Stones) rock bands are. Since i'm new to classic rock this might not be the best list, but i hope i got most of the good ones. For me it was between Aerosmith, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eagles, and The Doors. I had to go with CCR. They've had 7 albums and a lot of hits in the short time they were together.

CCR gets my vote followed by a tie of The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I really like George Thorogood as well.

Based on this list, "Aerosmith." I've always loved "Dude Looks Like a Lady," and "Walk This Way."

But, if the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, or maybe Def Leppard were up there, I probably would have picked one of them. "Aerosmith" never struck me as "classic" rock, even if they are turning into classics.

I might make another poll later for best classic rock band worldwide.

Isn't metal a subgenre of rock?

Form the list, I'll pick Credence Clearwater Revival. But, I have to ask, where is Grand Funk Railroad?

Priest & Sabbath aren't American.

On that list, I would say either The Ramones or Van Halen. But as you can probably tell from my avatar, my vote goes for a band not on the list.

If you want to get super technical, you could say they are.

when someone says "classic rock" though, none of those bands would even come into mind in 95% of the people being asked.
