I was looking at my DVD of this movie last night thinking to myself, "I wish they would do a Blu-ray release of this." Excellent news that put a smile on my face.

Truly a Parental Guidance -rated film...

May add it depending on the quality of the extras. If there's a type of DVD/BD extras that have been done to death, it's documentaries and Schickel commentaries on Eastwood films.

Love this movie..easily one of my top 5 Eastwoods. The last DVD release looked quite good, this is potentially a great blu ray. I will be adding this to the collection at some point in time for sure.

Awesome news!

Thank God that Warner releases the DigiBook titles in Amaray cases in the UK and they are region free. Love this movie, bu don't need to pay extra for packaging. I will be importing it from the UK for sure!

I'm definitely inclined to agree with you. I'm not opposed to digibooks, I simply believe the consumer should have options. I prefer an option to buy it in a standard Blu case, because aside from the price difference, I just prefer my collection to look as uniform as possible. I suppose I could wait, as I've noticed they often re-release the film in a standard case after about a year (Falling Down, Shawshank Redemption, etc.) But I can't wait to see this one in 1080p, so it's a definite first day buy for me regardless.

I really like the Digibooks--

I realize that they don't fit well with my other blu-rays but I have a different shelving system in my office for them--

these releases are more "special" and I think they're kind of cool--

dvd's had the same thing at times with bulkier packaging/cases so I've never really understood the hatred...

I regret I haven't even seen this, but I already have Unforgiven and Pale Rider on blu-ray, and it seems to me this is a missing chunk in my collection and I have faith in Eastwood, so I'm gonna blind-buy this day 1.

I hope Unforgiven gets a digibook like Goodfellas so Josey Wales won't be the only digibook. I would double-dip for that.
