Columbia House and Blu-ray

I'm sure someone has brought this up before but I think a Columbia House Blu-ray club would be freakin awesome. Not to mention the boost to overall Blu-ray numbers this could add at the end of the year (assuming Columbia Hose and other club totals add to the greater number). I for one will sign up as soon as it's available. It will probably be 5 Blu-rays for $1.00 each and a purchase commitment of at least three more titles at regular club price. Here's the link:

They already have blu-ray, the only problem is you can't get them to start off your deal. You have to get dvd's then, you can buy blu-ray's that are way overpriced. You probably won't be able to get them for 1.00 for a while

That's not gonna happen until Blu-ray gains mass adoption. Which might be a while.

See it doesn't appear (to me anyway) that Blu-ray needs to have a bigger share since they plan on offering the deal for both formats. They say they plan on doing this new program this fall so keep your fingers crossed. I just sent them an email requesting an update on their new Hi-def program. I will post the response.

That would be something indeed. A deal like Columbia House's could sway a lot of people on the fence now.
