Post Re-Release Covers

What are your viewpoints on DVD and BD re-releases in terms of package art? It's a very random question, but something that I think about when double dipping on a movie. I haven't double dipped on BDs yet, but I often replace non-anamorphic presentations with better restored releases.

Generally when I see new cover art, I'm turned off though. For example, the special edition of Christmas Vacation with Chevy holding a turkey on the front and a dumb grin. The cover with the christmas lights is what I'll always associate with the movie. I'm less likely to buy a rerelease with unfamiliar (and IMHO always worse cover art in a re-release).

For example:
T2 Skynet edition - worse cover art than the extreme DVD
Dumb and Dumber - stupid nipple twister on unrated version
Me Myself and Irene - Special Edition

Have you ever seen a better cover on a re-release??
