Exclamation Another 60:40 Blu-ray week with today's Nielson stats(Excellent Sales Slide Included)

Another 60:40 Blu-ray week with today's Nielson stats.

Then there is through 5 August count by title.

WOW, bashing aside...these numbers even though small, they are astounding!!! Almost twice as many copies sold on 300 by BD. And about the biggest seller for HDDVD, other than 300 is Planet Earth at 52,000 copies, which is only 5,000 more copies than BD. And the majority of the HDDVD movies in the Top 20 list sold only between 10,000 and 20,000 copies, when the smallest number for BD movies in the Top 20 list is 21,000 for Eragon..ERAGON??? That movie sold 20,000 copies on BD? That crappy movie sold more copies on BD than Bourne, Hotfuzz, Vendetta, Happy Feet and mission impossible on HDDVD.

You know this might change a bit with Transformers they will probably sell 50,000 copies I assume by year end, but with these poor numbers compared to the same mainstream movie titles on BD, I could almost bet if it Transformer was released on BD at the same time, it would sell atleast 2:1 just like 300, Departed, Happy fFeet..etc).

I am no rocket scientist but I know math when I see it...I am not bashing HDDVD in anyways, cause I honestly never saw this Home Media Research numbers until now, I mean I heard about the 2:1 sales lead for BD but GEEEZ to see it broken down to numbers, movie by movie, unit by unit...and to compare some of the similar titles is a big eye opener! WOW!!

All I can say is WOW!!! so where can I view a weekly print out of this sheet? I assume they update every week...can someone please include a link in their reply? thanks!

These numbers dont make any sense, I am happy that BD is still outselling HDDVD, but that still doesnt make any sense when Toshiba is outselling BD with their HDDVD players....that gap must be decreasing more and more everyday for these numbers to make any sense, I know about the PS3 effect and trust me thats what I have, and because of the PS3 I almost have 50 BD titles in 9 months, but I thought I was one of the very few....Like Will Farrel said it in BOD "This is Mind-Bottling!"

Then comes "Ghost Rider" that movie was soooooo cheeesy!!! I lost my faith in any more Nicolas Cage movies, granted it LOOKS amazing on BD...(I love how they wanna make crappy movies look good on either formats, while the good movies have mediocre transfers at times). But how the heck did crappy Ghost rider sell more copies on BD than Batman Beginds or Troy or the Departed!!! This is "MIND-BOTTLING"!!!

Bottom line, If Warner were to look at Consumer market numbers like their VP said the other day to TWICE.com, then I feel very strongly about them going BLURAY Exclusive and thats when Toshiba and Universal will definitely end up throwing in the towel. I feel way more safer now about choosing bluray, I will probably raise my stakes to 100 BD movies by year end!

Are these numbers world wide or U.S. only?? I hope they're just U.S. only because if they released the world numbers, it'd be even more embarassing for the DUDs

If you look at hd-dvd's list for the year, how big of a blow would it be if they lost warner. Not much in the top 20 from Universal or Paramount. Our list however, is much more diverse. I would hate for us to lose WB, but it would absolutely kill hd-dvd. Come on Warner.

I believe Nielson rankings are only based on the US market.
