Australia The Walking Dead: Season 1 (AUS 15/03/2012, NZ 01/12/2011)

The Walking Dead
JB Hi Fi New Zealand: Order HERE
JB Hi Fi Australia: Order HERE

Hey everyone, I recently stumbled across the TV mini-series "The Walking Dead" from, lets say, a "naughty" website

However I fell in love with it and have been searching everywhere to buy it or at least an Australian release date.

I see on EzyDVD they have the DVD version advertised but I couldn't find a Blu-ray version there or on JB, Big W etc...

I did search the forums for an answer and had no luck finding an answer, sorry if this has been answered.

^ Unless you've got a region free BR player (the US BR is region A locked) you won't be finding this locally for a while. I've had a hunt for it too and no luck. I will post if i find out anything further

There is a Region B UK release coming on May 16 in case a AUS release doesn't materialize:

Considering the show hasn't even aired on TV here in Australia yet, and that there's no airdate for the show in the forseeable future, you're probably best to try and source the blu-ray from overseas.

I brought in the region locked version from planetaxel.com and damn it was worth it!

Go to somewhere like dicksmith get one of the dodgy blu-ray players (i got mine for about $90) and i region changed it to region A so i can watch all locked blu-rays! (you download a firmware online and over-ride the stock standard one).

Some of the ones in JbHiFi can have the same done.

Highly recommend this to anybody.. don't be stopped by region locking.

Damn, good point, totally forgot about that!

Here's the Movie-Censorship report: http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=949636

We can now confirm what we were worried about: The UK Version released on Blu-ray equals the censored European pay-TV version of episode 2 and 5

So I had another look at the Blu-Ray when I was in town.. it says 'Audio: 5.1/2.0' , but it does have the DTS-HD MA logo on the back..

The Distributor is the same as the UK release too, not '2 Entertain Video' as the Database has it.

Why the hell is NZ $15 cheaper??? Normally if they have a sale, so do we. Hoping it's that price by the time it's releasesed here though I doubt it since the latest HBO offer us buy Walking Dead and get another HBO release for 50%.

well in that case, if the distributor is the same as the uk, the discs will be cut too.

pass.

although i know for a fact season 2 will be released on blu uncut in the uk.

Buy it from NZ then, shipping can't be that much to Aus... your dollar would make it even cheaper.

Haha very true though if it's cut, I would prefer the uncut version.

Now that it's supposedly out in Australia today, has anyone bought it and can confirm whether it's the censored one? I was going to blind buy it after one episode, but I certainly won't be purchasing a censored copy. I already made that stupid mistake with Underbelly years ago.

A nice surprise at work this week:

Also, that scene from the magazine article. I have the UK BD (unfortunatly), that scene is in the UK version but not at that angle. Wanted to know if it was on the uncensored version?
