Soldier Blu-ray

Soldier Blu-ray Review

It`s been some years since i saw it on DVD, but i remember i didn`t like it so much. I will give it a second chance. Hm, i misread it. It will be released on 26th, not 27th.

Haven't seen Soldier in years. Might revisit it again on Blu-ray one day. This was actually one of Kurt Russell's better films that he's done, albeit he had really minimal dialogue in the film.

Minimal, but awesome! "I'm going to kill them all, sir." I was just talking with a buddy of mine about this hopefully coming to BD soon, and here it comes! Whoo-hoo!

Yes!!! Will absolutely be getting this! Without a doubt one of the most underrated films I've ever seen. Can't wait!

I wanted to like this movie and I totally dug its concept...just not the execution.

They took a really good idea that if taken a bit more seriously could have ended up being an amazing film on a variety of different levels but instead they went goofy with it IMO and added too much cheese.

Not terrible by any means, just a bit difficult for me to watch when I think about all the potential it had.

I think many people also felt how you do, though I personally felt the film completely fulfilled it's potential.

As for the Blu-ray, my guess is that Warner will probably port over the same extras from the DVD, which were minimal yet ample (a commentary track and trailer), and probably use the same master that was used for the DVD (which was excellent). I have a good feeling that this will be a strong release in the A/V department!

I love how Amazon's price keeps increasing on this title, no doubt it will drop back down to the $12 or $13 mark by release date (or not long after)...

Very much anticipating this one, in fact, as of this moment "Soldier" is one of only two Blu-rays that I'm planning on purchasing between now and August! To this day, I still feel this is one of Kurt Russell's best performances!

I love Soldier, a great guilty pleasure but I honestly think to even suggest that this is one of his best performances is a bit of a kick in the balls! He only has 79 words, not lines, in the movie and 11 of them are "sir". Captain Jack had more depth than this character.

Anyway, great film.

You can also bet that Wal-Mart will have Solider and Red Planet for $15 each.

Oh man, at $12 or $13 I would have pre-ordered already. I'll have to keep an eye on my cart for a price drop.

Anyway, great film.
"Sir" could've been his only line as far as I'm concerned and I still would've loved it! I thought his performance was great not so much because of his dialogue, but because of the way he was able to portray (via body language) who his character really was...he was trained from birth to do nothing but follow orders, and to "speak only when spoken to." I think that's an aspect of the film some people forget, but that whole training sequence at the beginning, especially when the soldiers are still kids, explains exactly why he is the way he is...

I agree, though you can never know what will be in-store with Walmart, at least not at the location nearest to me.

im very not a paul ws anderson fan. really not. but i loved this one and i give im credit. yes some part of cheesy, but the good cheesy kind . the fights are very good, 80's style and i love kurt russell in this one. i think the body language and facial expression steal the show and doesnt need much words.love the fact that its just kicking ass.

no its not serious but then again its not comedy. i just like the atmosphere. science-fiction ish. people who like universal soldier could like it. but its still different enough. i had the vhs copy and regretted not buying the dvd when i saw it a couple of years ago. i`ll be getting this one

hope the transfer is good. no dnr please.keep the good grain

A little up
I just saw that the movie was being released very soon.
I had it on VHSbut never bought it on DVD. If the quality is good, I think I'll pick this up!
