Rules are simple....

• All fights will be the Best of Seven!
• You DO NOT talk about this Fight Club!
• If you are disconnected during a match, then you can either start over right away or post in this thread to re-schedule if you don't have time.
• No codes allowed. Zero, Zilch, Nada!

Mortal Kombat Tournament Rules & Gameplay

• 1. Please review the 1st, and 2nd Post of the thread to see the Due Dates for each Round, Important Tournament News, and Tournament Bracket. Post #3 of this thread has Player Rankings, and Records. If you have a question. See those posts before you ask.

• 2. This Tournament has recently reconstructed to a 16 Man "Double Elimination" Tournament. Each round will be a "Best out of 7" series meaning the first Player to win 4 matches against your opponent moves on to the next Round of the Tournament while the Loser goes to the Losers Bracket to stay alive in the Tournament which is still a "Best out of 7" series. If you lose (2) "Best out of 7" series matches in that Tournament. You will be eliminated until you're eligible to play in the next Tournament. Please see Post #3 for Rankings & Records for each Player.

• 3. When the "main" Tournament has been completed and you don't get selected to participate in the next "main" Tournament. You will be added to a Waiting List for the next "main" Tournament. There is a 2nd Tournament in the Waiting List which is Single Elimination, instead of a Double Elimination Tournament. Depending on how many are on the Waiting List, it will be either an 8 or 4 Man Bracket which is again Single Elimination. If the current Waiting List Tournament is an 8 Man Bracket, it will be "Best of 3" series to advance to the next Round, OR if the current Tournament is a 4 Man Bracket, it will be "Best of 5 series" to advance to the next Round. There will be no Due Dates for the Waiting List Tournament, but it must be completed by the time the "main" Tournament is finish. Please make sure you check Post #2.

• 4. Everyone has a different schedule and lives in a different time zone. Please contact your opponent via PM (Private Messaging), PSN messages, or post on this thread. Just because you post your time of availability on this thread doesn't mean your opponent will see your post. Send them a PM, and PSN message as well to cover all aspects of contacting your opponent. Remember to post which time zone you're located so that your opponent does not get confused or left hanging on PSN waiting for you. (Eastern, Central, or Pacific time)

• 5. As of now, we have not figured a way to track matches online to determine the true winner so when your match is over for that Round. We expect you to come clean as a mature adult to post the Match Results who won so we can list the winner into the next Round. Please make sure you post how many matches you played so we can keep track of stats for future references. (Example; I won 4 matches, my opponent won only 1.) It is also mandatory that both Players post on the thread to confirm who is advancing to the next round once your matches have been played.

• 6. Please read the Community Gaming Guidelines. There will be NO exceptions if you break any of the rules. https://forum.blu-ray.com/community-...8-17-11-a.html

• 7. If there's a problem with contacting your opponent. Please see the Tournament Host, or Gaming Moderator (if needed). If we see that you're the one that's active on the forum trying to contact and schedule your match. You will have the slight edge to move on to the next Round if you never hear from your opponent. Again, please contact the Host, or Gaming Mod that's participating BEFORE you declare yourself the winner.

• 8. If we don't see any scheduling activity in (1) bracket. Those matches that are not played by the Due Date for that particular Round will be determined by a "Coin Flip" to see who moves on to the next Round. The Coin Flip will be played "Best out of Seven" as well to determine the winner.
  
  
• 9. Disconnections! If you're in Round 1 and you get disconnected, just start over. If you've made it to Round 2 or 3 and you get disconnected, start over but let the person who won Round 1 (and/or Round 2), win that Round again and you just start over from the Round you were disconnected in.
  
  
• 10. Once the Tournament has begun, and you contact your opponent to set a date and time, they have 48 hours to respond to your Private Message. After 48 hours has passed and there is no word from them, you are eligible to move on to the next Round by default instead of using the Coin Flip to determine the winner.
  
  
• 11. LAG TESTING! Lag Testing must be done before a match can take place. Both players are to start a round and play around with the controls. When both are satisfied with the outcome, quit out, or finish that match as a warm up and then begin your Tournament Series!

Question: "Why is it that I have a better win percentage, but this Player is ranked higher than me when he has 15 losses"?
Answer: Anyone can be Ranked #1 with a 5-0 record. In MKT (Mortal Kombat Tour), wins determine your rankings. Not percentage, or how many losses you might have. If someone else ends up winning the Tournament beside the Top 2 Players on the Tour. Then that particular player "may" move up to possibly #3 by the end of the current Tournament despite their results listed on their resume (Spoiler Tags). The results of where you finished in Tournaments can be used to determine your overall rank, but since there's only a few dominant Players right now. Wins will be continued to determine your rankings.

Question: "Do I get my wins if I advance to the next Round by default, or by winning the coin toss"?
Answer: No, you don't get your wins recorded even though you advance to the next Round for any reason being. You must physically play your matches against your opponent to have your stats recorded on the 3rd Post.

I was actually thinking of organizing a tourney as well. U beat me to it.

Just food for thought. I'm sure there will be people who want to join that's not just located in the USA, but actually from all over the world. Therefore, if we want to keep this Tourney going for a long time, and keep it organized as much as possible....

Please sign up if you're ONLY committed because everyone is located in different time zones so it will affect scheduling due to work/school/personal life etc. I know an MK bout is short, but not everyone has the same schedule. It will be easier for the OP to run things for those that are ACTIVE on this forum, and answer incoming Private Messages.

Just like to add since I'm speaking from experience running a Madden League the past year.

I hope we can have something new here other than Football.
