Hong Kong The Legend Of Wisely


Teddy Robin Kwan's The Legend Of Wisely a.k.a Legend of the Golden Pearl (1987) is set to be released on Blu-ray on April 21. Courtesy of Fortune Star.

Synopsis:
Quote:
An adventurous scholar (Sam Hui) travels to the Himalayas in search of his missing friend Professor Kwan (Teddy Robin) in this big-budget science-fiction adventure. Kwan has taken a holy relic from a five-year-old monk. When Kwan is killed in a plane wreck, the scholar agrees to help the gifted child retrieve the coveted item. The pair travels to India, Egypt, and Hong Kong in search of the magic black pearl.

This movie was previously released as part of Joy Sale's non remastered catalogue. I'm quite surprised that their will be a Blu Ray release. I might pick this one up. One of my favourite movies growing up.

I never heard of this film before but it looks like all sorts of awesomeness. Blind buy!

It is very hard not to resist watching the whole movie on youtube (without subs) - any clip I look at, it looks great - sort of a cross between Indiana Jones and The Golden Child.

This is a classic!
The final climax is very cool! (the f/x is not bad for a HK 80s production.)
Still remembered, the news about how Sam Hui got really sick while making this movie.

He almost died due to the thin air in Tibet. Wasn't there rumors and him and Joey Wang were getting it on too?

The f/x were pretty cool especially that dragon looking ship.

Can you send an email to dddhouse info to let them know that it happened to you and it never happened before (if you used dddhouse.com before). It's annoying because I had to end up using paypal when I wanted to just use my credit card. I really think that they changed something. I don't have much money left in my paypal account, so it would suck to not be able to use dddhouse.com anymore if they don't fix their enets.com.sg payment system.

I already emailed them letting them know I had tried it nine times, as well as on three different computers, before giving up and just paying with paypal.

Woo hoo, my order just shipped from DDDhouse.com!
