Are moving wallpapers possible? - Blu-ray Forum

I know we can have photos as our wallpapers but is it possible to find animated gifs that you can set as a wallpaper?

i have never seen an animated .GIF any larger than 300x300 let alone 1920x1080.

I think the lastest firmware upgrade allowed for Flash content to be set as the background. So one could assume you could find and/or make something animated within Flash to the specified resolution and somehow apply it as your background.

Seeing as how I've not yet tried this yet I'm basically talking out of my ass though.

Flash isn't a supported filetype outside of the web browser and animated gifs only show the first frame of animation outside of the web browser. I think the PSP picture viewer was updated to show animated gifs properly (same may happen for PS3) but I still don't know if they can be set as animated backgrounds.

Well... my bad then... LOL. I thought I had read that in one of the update thingies, but maybe I guess not.

It would be cool though to have an animated background... so long as it wasn't too terribly distracting.

I think eventually alternative official 3D backgrounds like the default will be offered and the icon theming recently added to the PSP will be added too.

Well the Loco Roco screen saver is coming out this week. Not sure exactly how that will work yet though.
