Default Amazon.com prices for Canadians?

Hi
I live in Canada, and I keep hearing about the great prices at amazon.com

Can I order from there or do I have to use the vastly inferior amazon.ca?

Yes, order from Amazon.com. It's worth it because our currency is becoming more valuable making it cheaper to buy Blu-ray movies from the American site instead of the Canadian site. I was somewhere resisting it at first then now that I realize with our dollar value, the prices at Amazon.com are incredibly low in comparison to most prices on Amazon.ca. Even with the shipping costs, it's still much cheaper. In fact, I just saved more than $45 by buying 4 Blu-ray movies on Amazon.com instead of Amazon.ca. Yes, I did the math!

You will occasionally get dinged duty, but overall it's worth it as most packages should come in fine.

I'm Canadian and order from both Amazon (Canadian and US). Some titles they don't have at all (of not in stock) in the Canadian site so I order from the US one. I also compare the prices and order from the place I get the best saving.

And quit often I get my movies the 3rd day without paying extra shipping. Usually it take about 1 week.

As for Duty I have yet to pay for it from Amazon. I do pay it sometime from xploited Cinema and CD Universe.

How often would you say you get charged duty tax?

I've never been charged duty. Canadian orders from Amazon.com are re-processed in Ontario, I believe, which would eliminate the duty charge

I live in Sweden and order from Amazon.com. I also order from amazon.co.uk, amazon.de and Amazon.co.jp. I haven't yet ordered from Amazon.fr but I'm thinking about ordering Platoon that will be released October 2 in France.

I live in Canada and I order ALL my movies from Amazon.com. Just bundle a few movies to save on shipping. I save at least $5.00 a movie, and $10.00 - $20.00 for boxsets.

The only time when I got dinged for duty and the post office handling charge is when I mistakenly put a rush on expedited expensive shipping. Normally they ship out of mississauga, but a expedited somehow can come from the US.

As I really wanted those disks, I didn't refuse shipment.
