seems each country can issue whatever format they want (Germany released a different Phantom of the opera Blu-ray with better sound) so the Paramount/HD DVD deal may concern USA only (very often we've seen DVD being diffrent in content on different continents - X-men the last stand incredible bonuses for Europe and Australia for example)

When one say that one title is exclusive for HD-DVD or Blu-ray one usually means exclusive on that format in USA.

I have for example the Universal movies Lucky Number Slevin and The Jackal on Blu-ray. They are not released by Universal but Concorde in Germany and Concorde are a neutral distributor in Germany.

The funny thing is that it is Universal that distribute all Sony:s Blu-ray discs in Scandinavia and it is on Blu-ray they are distributed.

If you buy Casino Royale here in Scandinavia it will be distributed by Universal (guess they need some practice...)

...or go neutral soon!
