Default Having a problem with my Sub

Last week I believe, I noticed that my sub was not running during the movie I was watching.

The Power was on, It was Connected, but even after I turned it on and off, It wasnt until I unpluged the AV connection that it started up again. It happened again last night.

What could be the Problem?

Is your subwoofer set in a "stand by" mode? Sometimes this can cause the sub to cut off during watching a movie if it doesn't receive a steady signal from the receiver. I would put it in a "power on" mode to see if that fixes it.

I honestly dont think that this sub has that. If it does, I never got instructions on how to turn that setting off.

Its an Acoustic Audio HD-SUB12

It would be a switch on the rear of the sub. What names are on the switches on your subwoofer, besides the "gain" and "crossover" settings?

Thats the only one i could find. i dont think the switch near the bottom is a standby mode switch, it has something to do with voltage.

What's the switch next to the plug that says "off" and "on" then? Why would it be voltage? It may be your "reverse phase" control.

I gotcha. When you get home give it a look and also check the fuse to see if it may be loose.

I checked that the first time it happened. It was still completely screwed in.

Maybe someone else will chime in. I still think you need to find out what that switch is and go from there. Sorry, that's all I got.

Mike,

Can you get a better shot of the back that shows the connections more clearly? I think that would help anyone trying to give you a hand with this.

There you go! Switch it from "auto on" to "on". That's the "stand by" switch.

Thanks Eric!

Nice Thank you Eric. So Im guessing that is the auto standby switch? If i switch to off, it should take care of the problem?

Edit: Thank you Troy, Eric, and John. Im gonna do this first thing when i get home.

Right! But it won't say "off" the setting you want is "on" but not "auto on".
