Dexter: The Fifth Season Blu-ray Review

Showtime has just announced that the fifth season of Dexter will be released on August 16. Unfortunately there isn't any other information for the set, which will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray.

Here's a list of the episodes in the fifth season:

3. Practically Perfect
4. Beauty and the Beast
5. First Blood
6. Everything Is Illumenated
7. Circle Us
8. Take It!
9. Teenage Wasteland

Absolutely can NOT wait for this. My favorite show. Didn't get a chance to see much of season 5 since I don't have Showtime, but I always buy the blus.

I couldn't agree more. Following Season 4's ending, this is one of the BDs I have been anticipating above all other Blu-Ray releases this year. Can't wait!

Can't wait to watch again.

I was pleased with S5, but not to kill the excitement, don't get your hopes up too high. Many people expected something amazing and were let down with such high hopes.

By far the worst season of dexter, but It's still worth a pick up. I don't expect their to be too much more information available since Dexter is notorious for having no extras really.

agreed, I love dexter but this season was awful. Hopefully season 6 will be better.

In no way is it terrible or awful. I'm obsessed with Dexter and I'll willingly say it wasn't their best. I only stated my opinion for that simple fact. I'm looking forward to watching this season again as I only watched each episode once, and some twice.

This season was not the worst (season 3 says hello), but not the best. It was a good followup to four. The first two episodes were terrible but it got better from there. I will gladly pick this up day one.

Absolutely. S5 was a very good season but S4 was a tough act to follow let alone top.

Realistic expectations are key.

I recently began seeing this show and it has been surprisingly great. I'm almost done with season 4 so I'm looking forward to seeing the fifth season in the future. I was going to wait for a price drop for the previous seasons to buy them on Blu-ray, but since I have to fulfill commitment titles on Columbia house, I ordered the first season on BD and I'll order season 2 on the second account. Great show.

Definitely. And S5 wasn't exactly subpar, either. I would rank it above S2 and maybe hair below S3. It was very solid.

It just happened to follow one of the absolute best television story arcs, well, ever.

Season 4's ending was the one of the best endings for any series but fortunately Season 5's was just... meh. Uneventful overall, which I had a feelin would happen since what can truly top Season 4?

Why all the Season 5 hate... Loved Season 5 & can't wait to see it Again. I feel Season 3 was the weakest & still was good.
