Default Can we ask people here to stop writing in "733t 5p34k" please?

I come here to read about Blu-Ray news and reviews, and discuss the merits of the New HD Disc formats.

But lately, this place is being inundated with what appears to be 14 year old AIM bots who write in this retarded "leet speek" idiocy, and brings the value of discussion here down to basically unreadable levels.

If I wanted that shit, I'd go over to the forums on Playstation.com or whatever.

Is it too much to ask for people to speak properly?

Hello. I came here to be an adult, and have adult discussions about adult things. Lately this forum has become inundated with children with bad grammar and poor punctuation. Witness the shocking mis-capitalization committed by this minor:

or this pathetic confusion of tenses:

Honestly, I can't even understand what this child is attempting to communicate! Is to much to ask people to write properly?

It's ironic to me that you say this:

..and follow it with this:

shrike that is hilarious.

it bugs me when people write your when they should write you're or to when it should be too. but my spelling sucks. so I give people with poor grammar a break. plus we're not writing text books here.

This is the worst thread I have ever read. Who gives a shit about grammar! There are tons of highly educated people (i.e. Engineers) who suck at grammar. You feel better than everyone cause you have perfect grammar? Congrats!

exactly! Some people on here ARE 14 year olds, and some are from other countries. Who cares if they spell something wrong (God knows I have once or twice ) just because your so highly educated doesn't mean everyone else is. Take it easy, this isn't the grammar 101 forum.
And the internet has become a haven for acronyms, so all the LOL's and LMAO's and RFOL's and there's a million more, are here to stay.

There's a huge difference between making a typo because you're typing too quickly, and INTENTIONALLY typing like a monkey with a knife, trying to sound "Internet cool".

Between AVS being loaded with HD DVD trolls and the moderators who protect them, and this place beginning to look like a bunch of mall rat kids hanging out at the mall trying to look and sound cool, (especially with all taht idiotic "blu bloods crap) I feel as if genuine HT enthusiasts with a brain in their head have nowhere to go to discuss serious HD topics on the internet anymore.

I didn't complain about misspellings or grammatical errors.

I said I'm tired of reading "leet speak" crap where people INTENTIONALLY write like they are retarded because they think it makes them "cool" or clever.

It's stupid, and makes this site look like it's filled with a bunch of 11 year olds high on sugar and Grand Theft Auto.
