United Kingdom Dexter - Season 5 -- 5th September 2011

Title: Dexter - Season 5
Release date: 5th September 2011
Distributor: Paramount Home Entertainment (UK)
Source: Amazon.co.uk

Placeholder listings on Amazon.co.uk which state a release date for a particular title are often (although not always!) right on the money.

While this BBFC listing gives a further indication that a UK Blu-ray release of Dexter - Season 5 is imminent.

Paramount Home Entertainment (UK), if you're listening, can we please have Seasons 1-3 of Dexter on Blu-ray now, with all the extras (please)?

Oh, and would you please also give us UK BD releases of Made in Dagenham, Dinner for Schmucks and Case 39 (i.e. UK, Blu-ray, RETAIL releases of all those misguided Blockbuster Rental Exclusives you signed away, basically)?

What have the reviews of Season 5 been like? I really enjoyed Seasons 1-4, but I'm kind of worried how they will move forward after the shocking ending to Season 4.

I was pretty disapointed with S5 (I blame the new showrunner) but it's a decent watch for fans of the show.

BRING ON SEASON 1-3 ON BLU ALREADY!!

Almost all the comments on every forum and site I have visited seem to agree that it is easily the weakest season out of the five. That being said, if you are a fan of the show you might still enjoy it, I certainly still did, but there have been many fans saying they didn't like season 5 at all, and the show should end. It does pick up after the first 6 or so episodes, but as season four was so great, there seemed to be quite a lull on the early season five.

I'm also hugely interested in series 1-4 UK boxset; the US boxset is tempting and I'm waiting for some price drops as I can only find it for for about £100-105 including potential customs/imports, and that is pretty pricey for a series which is shorter than a lot.

I'm constantly shocked that such a prime HD show is not fully available in the UK, it's quite bizarre really.

As for Season 5, a slow-ish start but once the main plot kicks in it's very exciting. In all honesty they were always gonna struggle to top the amazing Season 4 no mattr how they approached it.
Season 4 will go down as one of the best seasons of any show ever!!!!!

Well after doing a forum search I found 4 threads relating to Dexter...yet none of them refer to the now-released seasons 1-4 Did anyone pick these up? Are they the same as the US releases? How's the PQ? I'm currently watching season 7 (not on BD, obviously ), but after I've finished that I may buy seasons 1-6 on Blu but am hoping for some feedback. They are currently hovering around the £20 mark (per season) on Amazon which isn't too bad.

UK editions are four discs per series, three discs per series in American editions. Extras are slightly different between regions but nothing major and importantly the extras on the US editions are nearly all BDLive, while they're on disc on the UK editions. PQ looks fine to me, I had the first series on DVD before buying the blu and the blu was a noticeable improvement
