Question Is there a reason?...or did I miss something

I thought the Samsung Blu-ray player was coming out at the end of this month? But when I go to Crutchfield's website, it says ETA is 7-28-06. Are they the only ones releasing this player a month after its arrival date, or did Samsung change their date and I missed it?

Don't know what's up with Crutchfield but the Samsung is definitely coming out later this month.

If you knew Sony1's posting history, you could understand why "nyg" answers like that...Sony1 is our little MS/HD-DVD fudster ;-)

Normally I'm not a supporter of LARGE companies, but we have them between a rock and a hard place. There was a very good debate in summary low value for money with restricted functionality for early adopters. At the same time we want the new toys yesterday (and who doesn't). However I would be happy to see the Samsung delayed as well - HDMI 1.3 is not yet approved, Managed copy is about to be finalised - either they have very good inside information or there could be some limitations to the bleeding edge players. Just remember where do the existing Toshiba players stand no HDMI 1.3 (then again apparently not required as they don't send HD audio over HDMI) Managed copy - well that should be interesting - unless this applies to only Blu Ray's unique additional copy protection. I think if abuse needs to be directed at anyone - it should be at the committees that have had so long to develop the standards (Yeah I know back to the LARGE companies).
