Hopefully it's an improvement and more in line with the great newer mockumentary horror films. The original was a mixture of really good moments with a bunch of cheese.

This might be worth a RedBox rental. I think there was an epsiode of Fact or Faked on SyFy about the legend.

Never saw the original Boggy Creek, but I did see the second sequel that was featured on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (and was called "Boggy Creek II" despite being the third movie in the series...). Anyway, the episode was memorable enough that I'm actually kind of interested in this new Boggy Creek. We'll see how it turns out.

The 1972 film 'The Legend of Boggy Creek' is really an effective chiller. IMO atleast. The woodsy, shadowy, locales are very eerie and creepy. It's very low budget but is extremely eerie.

I don't think an HD release of the 1972 original would benefit because of it being so low budget and the lighting in many scenes wasn't "all that" but I would still like to have a Blu-ray none-the-less.

Really? That surprises me. I know it was made by the same guy who made Boggy Creek II, which was pretty bad (an understatement). I guess I always just assumed the original wouldn't be any good. I'll have to hunt it down one of these days and give it a shot.

If they couldn't get a proper HD version made, the original still might have made a nice extra on this new Boggy Creek release. I have no idea who owns what though. Ah well.

I was looking for this today and couldn't find it anywhere. Anyone find this and picked it up today ?.

Every place shows it as out of stock. I doubt it was released today. Looks like its late.

Just saw the trailer, why ditch the mockumentary style?

The trailer's been out for about a year now. I thought the movie would never be released.

The artwork is terrible though.

Saw it at the movies with my dad, one of the few indoor theaters that had it from what I understand since it was self distributed and mostly ended up at drive-ins. I was 'big' then, 9 years old, and didn't need to sit by my dad so I went down closer to the screen. After the bathroom scene I quickly returned to where he was sitting. I'll never forget his laugh when I did that, lol. RIP dad!

I'd like to see the original on Blu-ray.
