Default Questions About Zombies

1. Why are zombies stronger than the living? In most modern zombie movies, the zombies have the strength to tear a person apart. Wouldn't the zombie's muscles have atrophied since they've been dead for some time? Therefore they should be much weaker than any normal living human, and not much of a threat.

2. Why do zombies hunger for human flesh or brains? I mean, if you weren't a cannibal before you went into your grave, why would you become one if you were re-animated with life? What would cause the sudden hunger for your fellow man? Why don't they hunger for chickens, or house pets instead? Why no vegetables or snack foods either? Wouldn't you be hungry for the same types of foods you desired before you died?

3. If they are not living, but rather the "living dead," why would they have hunger pains anyway? Can they digest food? Do they have other urges too, like a need for sleep?

4. If a zombie continues to "live" will it still decompose? Even though it is re-animated, it is still considered dead. Since many of them rose from graves (and how could they have broken their way out of wooden coffins? see first question), that means they were in a state of decomposition. Wouldn't that continue, now that they were the walking dead? If so, that mean victims just need to wait it out and eventually most zombies would crumble into piles of dust.

Simple answer: Its not real. Just go with it. Long answers:

1. Don't know.

2. They just do.

3. They don't get hunger pains. But they do starve, depending on the mythology.

4. Once again depends on the mythology. It's common that they do.

By the way, would Frankenstein's monster be considered a zombie? After all, the monster was brought back to life from the dead. What about the Golem? Or was he more of a robot? Aren't vampires the living dead, too? I seem to recall that Dracula's victims died first then joined him as living dead concubines.

I am the zombie master check out my gallery! And I may have a few answers to your questions. . Ok there could be 2 explanations for the strength question. 1. maybe the unseen forces or disease that caused the reanimation process caused the extra strength. 2. There may not be any 1 zombie that is much stronger than any human but in a horde they can easily become very powerful and over power barricades and the living. And as for hunger pangs and wanting to eat people..........HAVEN'T U SEEN RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD MANNNN?????!!!!! When they have that half woman on the table she says they eat the living because it makes the pain go away because it hurts to be dead. MAAAN I'm good! I'm so good they should call me Matlock well I'm slightly over weight since I haven't had the time to work out in the last 15 months so just call me FATLOCK!!!

I've been teaching my family how to properly defend themselves with household items, as well as stocking up the shelves, and watching many zombie movies (and show! ) to prepare as well.

So digesting human flesh eases the pain of zombification? I guess two aspirins won't do. I would've guessed that being the living dead would be a painless, soulless experience. Live (or living dead) and learn.

Another rule you should all abide by....no matter how long its been and no matter how bad you need it and no matter how much they might beg for it. Never have unprotected sex with a zombie after midnight.......... Oh wait a minute Im gettin it mixed up with Gremlins....... not that I would have unprotected sex with a gremlin or anything lke that....... I gota go now I think my mom is calling me!!!!

You gotta have a plan B. Like I read on another site, " You are going to run out of bullets before you run out of zombies."

You mean all my questions will be answered if I see this magical movie? (It must be obvious by now that I haven't seen this particular take on the zombie flick.) Do the answers contained in this film pertain to all zombie films, or only to this one example?
