Default The Batman (2022)

Quote:
WB Rebooting Batman After 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Christopher Nolan has publicly stated that The Dark Knight Rises will be his final Batman film, and Warner Bros. is already looking ahead to the future of the franchise. As we reported last night, the studio is currently planning a Justice League movie for 2013 and Warner Bros. president Jeff Robinov tells Hero Complex that scripts are being written for Flash and Wonder Woman (the Wonder Woman project would exist separately from the upcoming NBC show). But most intriguing is what the studio plans to do with its marquee superhero, Batman:

Quote:
“We have the third Batman, but then we’ll have to reinvent Batman…” says Robinov. “Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is.”
Since Nolan said TDKR would be his last Batman film, I already assumed that Warner Bros. would reboot the franchise. However, I hope that they don’t devote yet another film to Batman’s origin story. We all know how Bruce Wayne became Batman.

I’m a little worried about keeping Nolan and Thomas on as producers. I’m hoping that they’ll be on board simply to give the reboot some cred and leave the creative decisions to a new director and his or her team. Nolan has recast the Batman world in a “realistic” setting and that’s a perfectly valid take that’s had both positive and negative repercussions. But I think a trilogy of Batman films done in that style is enough and it’s time to see what a new director can bring to the table.

Another question worth asking is if Warner Bros. plans to tie Justice League to their new Batman. Will the actor who plays Batman in JL also play Batman in the new franchise? Or will Justice League exist in its own universe?

This is old news, but I'm going to go ahead and give it it's own thread. Feel free to discuss which direction you want to see the series go and when information begins popping up we'll update accordingly.

I'd honestly like to see a movie more in the vein of the 90's series, which I still consider the definitive version of Batman. I think it could make a great take on the character if done correctly as a live action movie.

I would like to see something like what Nolan did but less serious and use other characters from the series like Knightwing or something. Would also love to see Scarecrow, Penguin, Riddler and Killer Croc as villains.

Flash movie! They better not be freaking joking this time! Getting my hopes up again, o and they should put Wally West in it, at least for a second.

They could go a different route and make a Terry Mcginnis batman. Batman Beyond could be a really good batman movie if made correctly.

I think a blend of the 90's version and todays version would be really good...with addtional characters....still not sold on Robin being in the films....

I'm done seeing Batman movies after TDKR.. enough is enough, honestly we don't need 3 different franchises, 4 if you're counting the Adam West Batman

I just want them to get away from this overly realistic approach. I really find it a little dull.

Id like for them to have a more interesting looking gotham, not just chicago (), do some of his supernatural enemies, but handle them right, dont crack jokes every 5 seconds, make sure they look very cool, not in some cheap looking costume.

Dont use ANY of the actors from the current movies. Dont bother doing an origin story, maybe just mention some things about it here and there. Show a lot more detective work which Nolan's movies completely failed at. Have batman get in some serious fights he might not be able to win, or even some that he loses like in the comics. Even if they went with like a noir 40's visual style like the 90's animated series. I would be really into this approach.

I would actually really love to see the Red Hood storyline done as a movie. I think it would make a fantastic movie.

Or have Dick Grayson be Batman. That hasn't really been done anywhere outside of the comics (except for part of an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold).

Yeah I loved the animated movie and a live action version that can do more would be awesome.

I loved the 90's Batman. Michael Keaton was the best. I also like what Nolan has done with today's iteration of Batman, a combination of some sort would be sick!

I really wish the studios weren't so money hungry though, after The Dark Knight Rises, I'll need a break from Batman movies. I'm not opposed to a Justice League movie though, but only if it's done right.

At least Marvel have taken their time to build up each character in preparation for The Avengers film. This just feels too rushed for me.

I for one am done with Batman when Nolan is. For me I don't need any more Batman, I didn't like any of the previous and I love what Nolan and Bale have done. There will never be any topping this franchise for me, so why bother to even watch something new? That's my stance on this reboot anyways.

JL movie needs to happen but some buildup would be nice.....seems like they are just throwing it in the middle and hoping for the best...

Well, it really is being rushed. WB needs something now that Harry Potter is over, and Green Lantern underwhelmed greatly at the box office, so they're sticking to what they know will make money: Batman and Superman. Makes me wonder what the future of The Flash movie is going to be...

As for the Justice League movie to hit in 2013? I don't believe it. And if they do, it's just a cashgrab. They didn't take the time to build the characters or anything like Marvel and that's what makes it even worse. I think they really need to step back and evaluate what exactly isn't working when they make movies. They're lagging greatly behind Marvel and really need to step it up.

I would LOVE to see a hard R version of Batman come out.

But seeing as the studios in question (as well as most other big studios) wouldn't be keen on green-lighting a big budget R film, it will never happen.

What can I say, I love graphic violence and nudity.

Christian Bale as The Flash, directed by Christopher Nolan?

Christian Bale as Aquaman, directed by Christopher Nolan?

Christian Bale as Hawkman, directed by Christopher Nolan?

Christian Bale, Christian Bale, Christian Bale, Christian Bale, Henry Cavill and Ryan Reynolds in Justice League, directed by Christopher Nolan?
