United Kingdom Animals United (2010) Blu-ray 3D [Region B Locked / Free]

I noticed no one mentioned anything about Animal United 3D?

It's coming out in UK on 25th April.

Is anyone buying this? Is it any good? What is the 3D like?

Thanks.

Never even heard of the movie until just now. No idea if it will be region free...guess we will have to wait until someone buys it and posts a review, or someone in the US imports it.

Ok, please do give me review of the film? Any good 3D effect, etc?

Thanks.

I bought and watched this film a few days ago. I admit it is the worst film in my 3D collection. Its clearly dubbed with english well known (to the uk) voice actors and sometimes feels what they are saying doesnt fit with the scene. The 3d I suppose is good, good depth. But the story is weak IMO.

I believe it is made in Belgium (I may be wrong) and someone got the idea to go mainstream and dub it, but it didnt work for me. I just couldnt get into it. Comparing it to Ice Age 3 or other movies similar then Ice Age 3d would be Goodfellas and Animals United would be Mickey Blue Eyes.

I just watched this and must say I was highly impressed with the 3D. It is on a 50gb disc and the depth was amazing, a few popout scenes as well. As mentioned above I noticed at times the words didn't go with the mouth it seemed but hardly noticeable and I personally thought the story was not bad either.

I really enjoyed the 3D and this is a must get.

Popout was good, when the hunter pointed the gun often the barrel came out at you. The best scene was when he pointed it and fired a sleeping dart. The barrel came out then it showed the dart firing right at you in slow motion. It looked really cool

Animals United. Until I saw what it was, I thought it was a serious nature wildlife documentary about protecting animals, based on the title alone. Turns out it's a comical animated CGI film.

I am surprised, as I remember you mentioned animated 3D films weren't your first choice for 3D. But good to hear and looking forward to your 3D thoughts.

Ha ha true, I got it for £1 years ago and I never actually watched it in the end and actually traded it in. I kind of wished I'd kept it but I probably still wouldn't have watched it by now lol.

Dvdcompare says all versions are Region B Locked but Paul H has confirmed that the original Dutch release is in fact region free, so that's the one to get if you can't play anything other than Region A discs:

The cover, the disc-art &/or specifications do not show a 'Blu-ray 3D' logo and the specifications do not mention the Blu-ray contains a 1080P MVC 3D Full HD encode, making it a Blu-ray 3D disc, but it is there in all it's glory!

The disc-menu Main Feature list choices are: (2D), (Anaglyph 3D), and (Real 3D) = (MVC).

1 left on Amazon UK BUT just to complicate matters, that may be a re-release that is actually region locked, as the listing on bol.com has a different cover (no anaglyph) and specifies Region B only: https://www.bol.com/nl/p/animals-uni...#product_title

I believe Amazon UK is selling the original region free version because the picture has "Originele Versie" printed on the red flag (exactly what is on my release) on the Giraffe's neck

and anaglyph glasses are shown on the bottom of the cover statement.
