Default Help with PS3 & Vista media server setup

Hi, I just upgraded to Vista home premium. I'm new to this OS and I couldn't find any documentation on setting up media servers.

My PS3 menu sees the PC as a media server but I can't access it. I looked into my PC's network and it doesn't see the PS3.

Any help, links, previous forum posts on connecting them together ? My bet is some permission is not turn on at my vista-PC side but I can't find it.

I got mine to work, all I did was take the file\folder I wanted and shared it. In the security section, file and printer sharing must be on as well. Hope this helps.

I've had HUGE problem w/ doing this on my XP machine (i've given up) - but apparently in Windows Media you go into options and set the program to "share", then it should show an "unknown" machine (the PS3). OK it to share w/unknown and you should be good to go.

Ok well i have vista also and i just figured it out. Go to your network and sharing center. Turn on public sharing with out password. Then click on Media sharing, Make sure your PS3 is on and searching. Once you do that it will pop up on the screen. Click and add then push apply and you are done. If you have anymore questions email me at baldwinkk@gmail.com
