The Muppets Take Manhattan Blu-ray

The Muppets Take Manhattan Blu-ray Review

Looks like sony releases another catalog title with a nice transfer. I've always been a sucker for the puppets. Surprise no post about this title yet.

The ONLY Muppet movies that exist in MY world are the original 3:

1. The Muppet Movie
2. The Great Muppet Caper
3. The Muppets Take Manhatten.

Day one for me.

I thought there would be a lot of talk about this also. I'm definitely getting this tomorrow but I'll pass on Muppets in Space.

I totally forgot about this! My mother will kill me if I buy it though, as I drove her nuts as a small child playing the Beta copy we had over and over again, ad nauseum. She hates it now.

Any particular reason they're releasing this one before the first 2? Seems odd, but nevertheless, will probably pick it up.

Because Disney owns the rights to the first two now, not Sony.

If Disney were smart, they would release the first two NOW on bluray and ride the popularity wave of the new feature film coming out.

Thanks for clearing that up, I figured it had something to do with that.

Muppet Treasure Island is fantastic too.

I'll definitely be getting Sony's Muppet movies on Blu-ray. And I can't wait until Disney starts releasing some of their Muppet movies (and by that I mean the ones that they own of course ) on Blu-ray! And hopefully we'll get a proper widescreen version of Muppets Wizard of Oz...

I'm so happy that the transfer on this one appears to be very solid. I'll be picking it up in the near future.

While we are talking about other Muppet movies, I would love to see the TV special A Muppet Family Christmas on Blu uncut. I have the long oop DVD version, but the cuts really hurt it.

I tried looking for this today, but I wasn't able to find it at either Target or Best Buy. I'm going to check a few more places after work tomorrow. I'm hoping I have more luck with Walmart and the few other stores I'll check tomorrow.

Wal-Mart's web site says "not sold in stores". Haven't seen it anywhere.
