It would be nice if it had the US version as a bonus, also the see it to believe it "Cozzilla" version from Italy!

That would nice if they did include "COZZILLA"; the bootleg for it is in such horrible quality! Godzilla had heavy print damage on the original Classic Media DVD. I'm curious to see on how they'll restore the film or if they'll use Toho's HD masters. Same with the "King of the Monsters" print; I wonder will they find a complete cut of that version. Some prints of "King of the Monsters" had opening logos and credits missing. I'm also wondering if they're porting the extras from the Classic Media release. So many questions to be answered!

Oh Hells Yeah! If they are doing it they must have a good print and hopefully some nice supplements.

One of my all-time favorite monsters. Hope to see some official news on the release soon.

In the US. The Japanese BD looks nice. I wonder if Criterion will get their hands on the Toho masters? If so, you guys should be happy with it.

Pretty much this. Funny, last month I was in a Criterion craze ( still am) and to finally see the word Criterion on a Godzilla release is just mind-blowing. It's also very mind-blowing that they've found a 35mm print of the US cut. Tamura, one of the users on Toho Kingdom claimed he's helping them with the King of the Monsters print since he owns a copy of the film. What they need now is the Italian colorized cut Cozzilla and this edition will really be the ultimate set for G-fans!

They forcibly confiscate prints from collectors? Why?

Because Toho has always ruled with an iron fist on Godzilla. It's their cash cow and they don't anyone with HQ prints of the film.

The only truth to his point is Godzilla actaully was inspired by *Beast*, and Toho kept going with it because Gojira was a huge hit. The rest is history..

Well that I know, but Beast was only a part of its inspiration. The Lucky Dragon Number Five was the main inspiration.
