Nope, it was actually one of Asylum's first dodges, when they first discovered that if they did their OWN movie of a public-domain novel, Norse god or historical cruise ship, the real studio lawyers couldn't touch them for it.
The Asylum knockoff versions of Sherlock Holmes, John Carter and 3 Musketeers came later, but "Titanic II" was the trailblazer. And what, you ask, would be even cheaper?--Oh, maybe doing some German in-studio conversion on it. |
