Default Blu-ray player streaming question...

I have a Sony BDP S570 blu ray player. One of the reasons I bought this unit was to be able to stream video and photos from the computer to the blu ray player (and then watch them on the TV).

I've got the blu ray player recognized by my computer via wireless network and I have successfully been able to play music and pull up photos from the computer and stream through the blu ray player.

However, I'm still having trouble doing this with video, and I have a LOT of both downloaded and personal videos that I would like to be able to stream to watch on the TV and I have not been able to figure out how to accomplish this...the blu ray player simply refuses to recognize any video files when I try to pull them up on the player.

I've contacted Sony support, and they sent me specs of what the player will and will not recognize, and I've tried converting the video files to match those file specs-I've tried using mpeg2, avi, etc., but still no luck. They also sent me a link with a test file, but for some reason the computer does not want to pull it up (or it's a bad link), so I can't test that out.

Since the photos and music stream with no problems, I know the connection is fine, but I can not get the player to recognize video files for some reason.

Has anyone had success being able to stream video files from the computer to the blu-ray player, and if so, exactly what file types are working and how did you achieve this?

Thanks in advance for any help with this issue!
