Default CEATEC 2007 BDA presentation report

I wasn't able to go to this myself since I have to work during the week, but it looks like there was some cool stuff to see.
Some other site will probably do an English report, but for now here's the Japanese link that you can use with Babelfish or whatever:
http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/do...2/ceatec04.htm

Nothing too major, but here's some highlights:

The representative of Matsushita/Panasonic says "There was no format war in Japan". Take a look at this chart: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/do...2/cea04_08.jpg
Even if HD DVD does pull off a miracle and takes the lead over BD in the US and keeps it, they'll never be able to kill it off due to the PS3. And since the Japanese market is almost completely Blu, if by some greater miracle it doesn't becomes unprofitable to produce BD only for the US, there will always be Hollywood movie discs produced for the Japanese market that will make it easy to just port over and release in the US and other markets.

Fox also announced a bunch of titles for Japan, including a new date for Sunshine (has that been given a date in the US yet?), on 12/21.

The president of Warner Home Video Japan talked about the 9/26 release of 300 in Japan, and he said that the Blu-Ray version sold 220,000 copies in the US and is continuing to rise. Isn't 220,000 more than the number of HD DVD players and 360 drives sold in the US?

There were also some recorders shown, which I think were all previously announced. Another manufacturer, Taiyo Yuden (which is widely regarded as the best in recordable optical media) announced support for the organic BD-R discs.
