That release is the heavily censored version.
NSM Records is releasing a uncut version sometime this year.

I read some early reviews on Amazon.de after it came out and the reviews were harsh as it was cut, but there are listings for IV and V uncut as well, but Anchor Bay has stated they will be releasing IV and V in the U.S. this year as well. I still haven't heard much from the transfers on the two or three '78 Halloween editions released in Germany as compared to the AB one, only a bit on how the first release was a bit grainier.

So, I got it in the mail a few days ago. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but it seems to be region-free (I'm in the US). Very simple menu, easy to navigate. Just need to change the language to English (defaults to German)... no subs. The runtime is 1:35:21, so I don't know how much the video is cut. Its been so long since I've seen this one, I probably won't notice it anyway. I'll post more once I've had a chance to watch it. --Rick

Do you have a region free player? If not, it's region free.

Hee hee... yeah, I know. It's DEFINITELY a region-free disc. At the time I wrote my last post, I had only popped it into my pc briefly (which can read other region discs). I've since popped it into my US Samsung player (which isn't region free) and it plays just fine.

Almost every death scene is cut, missing about 1m30s of footage.
