A longer version of the video on the Redemption web site can be accessed at Indiewire here (NSFW). Redemption Films on Facebook Kino have confirmed the following on their own Facebook page: -- All five releases in the first wave are set to be released on January 24, 2012. -- The releases will not have slipcovers. -- They will be MSRP $24.95 instead of the usual MSRP $34.95. I would say they're a step above typical Euro-sleaze. Think of dreamy 60's-70's fantasy movies. Pretty low-budget and slow-moving by today's standards. But with plenty of female nudity and blood-sucking to keep things interesting.

Hmm...If you've never seen any Franco or Rollin...I would honestly not recommend a blind-buy for all the films at once. However, if they come across as interesting to you, maybe you can try to view one or two before these films are released? I would recommend them, it's just that they really are such acquired tastes that I can picture most people seeing no point in them at all...

Well, I guess I'll just keep my pre-orders for now on all 5 and take my chances. I do want to see all these films now that I know they are just more than euro-sleeze. If I decide not to keep any, I'll just sell them on the trading forum. Thanks for the info! |

Never seen any of them (nor heard about Jean Rollin until a few weeks ago) but based on this Redemption trailer that I have now watched half a dozen times, I have pre-ordered all 5 titles from amazon.com. This looks right up my alley; Kubrick meets Hammer Horror with an erotic twist from what I gather. January 24th can't come soon enough

The vampire element in these films is of secondary importance, so if your buying them solely on their vampire genre description then I would strongly suggest you research Rollin before the order goes through.
