Default Entry-level Receiver/HTIB for PS3

Hey all,

I was wondering what would be a good entry-level receiver or HTIB for a PS3? This would be my first HT purchase, and I'm looking for something inexpensive to start with.

I would like the receiver to decode TrueHD, DTS:HD-MA, and handle uncompressed PCM all through HDMI. I've seen the Onkyo 605 mentioned numerous times in other threads but was curious what everyone else thinks. Thanks!

I'm about to buy an Onkyo Tx-SR605 myself. Circuit city also has some decent speaker sets. Like they have an MTX 5.1 speaker set that all you do is plug and play them with the receiver. decent remarks for 200 bucks. Thats the best way probably due to the ability to upgrade speakers or components if you have anything other than the PS3 and not worry about connectivity to the TV. Your on the right track.

Obe.

A fellow Vizio user!

Remarkable.

Im trying to upgrade my sound systems as well - the Onkyo 605 seems to have the most support in these forums.

The Onkyo 605 has the most support because of the features and price. It is definately a great option.

tx-sr605. you can't beat it for the price

just dont be surprised when you upscale analog video. that's about the only thing it can't do well, but you can fry an egg on top of it! lol
