Default Did anyone else see Blu-Ray's dominance in this weeks ads?

I don't know if this is only for my local area, but did anybody see the Best Buy and Circuit City ads? Blu-Ray was advertised very well. In Best Buy I think, they showed a $499 Samsung Blu-Ray player and a ton of Blu-Ray movies on basically the whole page. I didn't see any HD DVD advertisements except for I think under Evan Almighty it said coming to HD DVD.

Yeah, Circuit City has a B2G1 deal on select Blu-ray titles, with a decent ad.

Best Buy didn't have a sale at all, but they did show a bunch of BDs under the advertised Sammy player and some more with the PS3. Also, they have a deal where you get $100 off if you buy an HDTV and a BD or HD DVD player.

I'm thinking about this package for the bedroom. Best deal I've seen in a while from Best Buy. It's like a PS3 for free!

yep. definitely a nice change

BUT -- a "ton"? c'mon.

i'm all for trashing BB 'cause my local BB is giving Blu the royal shaft. CC is kind of "fair and balanced" when it comes to software only; for players, they are all about HD-DVD.

guess south-east PA is red territory.

(walmart is worthless; they have neither format. seriously; target has a large amount of blu shelf space for 5 movies. weird)

I walked into a district HQ best buy the other day which is pretty much the largest store in the area to see how they had the sections setup for HD. Ends up that Blu-ray has 6 sections which is the entire front face at the front of the store, and the 6th section with wraps around the back. HD-DVD was on the back and one shelf down totaling 4 shelf units. Either Sony is paying BBY more for product placement, or BBY Corporate isn't a fool to #s.

Even CompUSA advertised the S300 player and a few movies. The only disappointment was Ultimate Electronics, they just had a Toshiba HD-DVD player on the front page of their ad.

Talking about "Ads", one thing that annoys me is to see the "HD-DVD" logo in every single Knocked-Up or Evan Almighty TV commercial, but Fox not putting the Blu-Ray logo one on the FF2 movie ads.

Opportunity wasted imho...
