United Kingdom Immortals (5th March)

Couldn't find a thread for this, so thought I would start one

Really enjoyed this movie last November and wanted this on Bluray

There will be a Steelbook - but in a twist of the usual release, the 3D version gets the Steelbook not the 2D version good news for 3D collectors, not so much good news for 3D haters!! The start of things to come maybe?!

Don't buy 3D usually, put tempted to get the 3D just for the Steel of this - and at 17.99, its still cheaper then the last load of HMV exclusive Steels.

Now, I wonder if we will also get the previous unseen uncut "18" rated version ?!

pre order available now!

Was going to post literally the same thing. It only looks like some mindless entertainment, but after watching
, I feel like I have to see it (providing someone that has seen it can assure me this is not the best part of the film). Best get the 18 certificate cut on Blu, as well.

That fight scene was ruined in the film, it's intercut with another 2 slower paced, sloppier directed fight scenes that make it fell really frustrating to watch, plus it's 1/3 of the climax.

There is one better fight scene that doesn't last long, but it's awesome

My folks went to see it and said that the blood in the actual movie was more of a black colour.

Is this true?

HMV list it as having both 2D and 3D which is better then having just one option like Final Destination 5 did.

HMV price is £23.99 however! So forget ordering from them.

99.9% of 3D films come with 2D

It looked red to me, although it seems darker than in the clip. I went watching it in 2D though

very much looking forward to this release... as soon as I saw it, it felt like a movie made for Bluray!!
In regards to the darker red blood - well it was darker then usual - I guess its part of the visual style of Tarsem I think?! it was quite dark in bits anyway.
Can also see why some folks don't like it.
like Tarsem's previous films - I find that I am totally enthrawled by the film, story and visuals - but get bored 3/4 towards the end.
Same with The Fall and The Cell. He does enough to grab you in, but not enough to keep hold of you.
But besides - the rest of the film is fantastic and makes up for the last part of the film.
he certainly loves his ladies wtih dangling things over their faces from their head pieces!! And deserts. there is always a shot of a desert at one point.

looking forward to his next film -Mirror Mirror - if for the visuals alone. it doesn't like as violent and bloody as Immortals though

I just watched the film. The visuals are incredible, but, I have to report (unfortunatly), that the fight scene I posted the video of earlier in the thread, is, indeed, the best thing in the entire film.

I thought the film was an utter bore fest. I don't know what the running time is but it felt like a week. Almost all the action (especially where special effects are concerned) is all at the end. The rest of it looked subpar for a movie. Even Spartacus on TV makes it look cheap, slow and under written.

Don't expect much in the first hour of the movie except talking scenes.

Sadly yes it is the 15 cert version.
Its listed on the BBFC website as a 15 so will be the cut version.
No way am I paying this much for a bluray that is cut even though its 8 seconds only. I will wait for the US release to drop in price.

Before people start inevitably slagging off the BBFC, it's not their fault, the Universal is just refusing to release it uncut.

Well its the BBFC who gave it a 15 over 8 seconds.
Then its Unis fault for not wanting the blu/dvd to be 18.

They were offered an uncut 18. They turned it down.

I'm really surprised at them turning down the marketing opportunity, to have 'UNCUT VERSION'
plastered all over the cover, by not releasing the 18 rated version.

I think its because similar type of movies like 300 was 15 they wanted to appeal to them category.
