Default The Planet of the Apes: Evolution Collection

Just noticed FoxConnect.com has The Planet of the Apes: Evolution Collection as an exlcusive here in the US and it appears to be to same set as the one available from Amazon.de. It's a bit pricey, at $90.99, when compared to the current five disc collection available at Costco.

I was just looking at this set myself. If anyone is interested in it, apply the code FOXREG and it'll take off $9.10, bringing it down to $81.89 shipped. Still a bit pricey and the other set with the book is nicer imo.

Last week I used that passcode (thank you very much, by the way), and took the plunge. I ordered that awful 40th anniversary set from Amazon, and the discs were all scratched. Got a replacement same thing. I said, "Eff that, I'll see what this Evolution collection with all 7 flicks is all about."

Well, got it in the mail today and all the discs ARE in a plastic hubs that are put together in a book style. I'll post an unboxing vid sometime if I remember to charge my camera. Although it doesn't contain the great book that the 40th set had, at least I have piece of mind knowing that all my discs are in mint condition this way. I'm happy with my purchase!

It's pretty much exactly like the edition that's available on Amazon.de... just, you know, in English:

Not bad, not bad at all.

I wouldn't even touch this set because there will be more sequels to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I'd rather wait until the remakes are finished and then buy the complete set (Or whatever its gonna be called).

Understandable. It was good for me because I never saw the other four original Apes flick... only the original with Heston himself. So this set was a real treat and a great alternative to that awful book packaging.

+1. That's why I have the 40th anniversary set and ROTPA separated.
