Sorry but this has been bugging me for a while. Just curious if anybody else noticed it in Pal Land (Europe, Australia etc....)
I first noticed it when I bought the original soundtrack for Star Wars A New Hope. I noticed the music played at a lower pitch on my CD player than on my VHS video. I think it killed DVD stone dead in my mind when I read about the 4% speed up. From then on I noticed it in everything from TV programmes to my DVDs. American actors being interviewed on talk shows sounded different to their movies. Got to a point where I thought my DVD player was messing up while watching Star Trek TNG, as if all the actors were moving at an abnormal speed. Love how Blu Ray has cured this and I can relax again. ![]() P.S, Silly question but is stuff like Family Guy on DVD in the UK 4% sped up as well? Thought as its animation they may have found a work around. Until they are on Blu Ray I can't buy them as long as I know they are Pal sped up ![]() |
