Default PS3 to Onkyo 805- HDMI vs optical out
Hey gang,

I have an onkyo 805 arriving tomorrow I'll be hooking up to my ps3. I was planning on using the optical out to the receiver as I heard it was better for video quality to just connect the player and the tv directly (sony 52xbr4). I've been following the threads on the complications of ps3 audio decoding, but it isn't clear to me if I lose anything by not using an hdmi connection to the receiver. My speaker set-up is 5.1. Any advice would be appreciated.
