Cool How many formats do you still buy for?

I would think the large majority of the answers are just BD, but you never know what people do.

Please vote according to your actual recent purchases or planned purchases by the end of this month.

Doh' forgot the poll. But here are the choices.

Blu-ray only: I shun anything with "dvd" in it.
HD-DVD: I'm format neutral
DVD: Somethings are worth having in this format.
VHS: Don't ask me why, I still do!
Other: Beta, Laser Disc, Digital VHS, etc.

Thanks.

For me, it's Blu-ray ONLY... if I get to the point where I own every BD I want, I MIGHT buy a standard DVD or two... but NEVER HD DVD... (unless by some miracle, they win the format war... like THAT'S gonna happen)...

I see no poll. However, I just bought a SD DVD the other day. It was the new Superman: Doomsday Movie. I will probably buy the rest of the Teen Titans seasons and The Batman seasons on SD, but I don't like to double dip. So I will be buying just blu from here on out.

I got rid of all my VHS the day I brought home my first DVD player. I think it was April 1999.

Movies on BD and DVD. I bought Robot Chicken Season 2, and a bunch of stand up comedians on DVD.

Just Blu for me. My son complained the other day "Since you got your PS3 you don't buy DVD's anymore." He loves Blu Ray but he only has a SD DVD player in his room.

Blu only but with an occasional exception for something the kids want that will probably not be available on blu until they're too old to enjoy it.....if ever. I just picked up "cat in the hat" on SD-DVD because my daughter wanted it and I'm sure that won't see blu-ray for quite some time......I could be wrong.......but I really doubt it.

I hope that Disney will release the classics on blu soon though. I'd pick up all the classic movies for my 2 girls as soon as they're released. There are some that they don't yet have on DVD and I keep telling them to wait because I'd rather buy them on blu.

My 6 year old daughter called my office the other day crying because The Wild BD would not play in her DVD player in her room. I had to explain the difference between DVD and Blu-ray.

Blu-ray mostly (imagine that)
I still buy DVDs occassional when I rummage through the $5 bin at walmart or something, and I'll still buy some tv shows on DVD.

I did break down and buy Knocked Up on regular DVD since I couldn't get it on blu

No use for HD-DVD. There are a few things I'll still have to pick up on DVD, like the Futurama feature coming out next month and Disney's Oswald the Lucky Rabbit shorts in December. But I'll be spending most of my home entertainment budget on BDs for the foreseeable future.

disney is known to release classic titles very slowly. Just like you, I bought classic disney (for myself) titles as soon as its released since 2002. In a year, they might release about 4 classic titles, and after some time, they are returned to disney vault.

I'm probably going to get shot for this but I'm thinking of getting Transformers on SD DVD. My son's been bugging me to get it.

Blu-ray only. I stopped buying dvd's way before blu-ray or hd-dvd even came out, cause i didnt want to repurchase everything again on whatever the high def format might be.
