If you like smart and original deconstructive rom-coms like Annie Hall, (500) Days of Summer, Stranger Than Fiction, etc., put this on the top of your list of most-anticipated films. Easily the best by a mile this year (so far).

The title has been changed to Ruby Sparks, which is Zoe Kazan's character's name in the film.

It is also set for limited release on July 25, 2012, and I strongly suggest all rom-com fans to go see this. I'm confident it'll be on many year-end lists.

(500 Days) is a better film, imo, but this is great as well. I'd put it up there along with Moonrise Kingdom as the best films of the year. I've been dying to see it again.

It seems my most-anticipated movies are always the limited releases. Unfortunately most of them don't open here. Half of my 10 most-anticipated of the summer list consisted of limited releases. I know Take This Waltz, Your Sister's Sister, Safety Not Guaranteed, and Lola Versus were on there. At the moment I can't think of what the other one was. Thankfully Take This Waltz is available on-demand right now but a friend of mine who is also dying to see it made me promise I'd wait and watch it with her. I think we're supposed to do so Friday night, but I said if it's not soon I'm watching it without her. Sucks living somewhere that doesn't get most limited releases. I hate having to wait for DVD/Blu-ray to see them. I would be more excited to see Your Sister's Sister than The Dark Knight Rises, and I loved The Dark Knight

Saw the film on Tuesday with a Q&A from directors Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris and writer Zoe Kazan. The film was absolutely amazing and it's the best romantic comedy since (500) Days of Summer. I was floored by it, and I hope it does Little Miss Sunshine numbers at the box office. It'll be interesting to see how it does, but with the exception of Moonrise Kingdom or Safety Not Guaranteed, there is not a better film out there to see than this one. I hope this film finds its audience.

I really wanted to check out their Q&A too and see it for the second time, but we decided to go watch something else. I also hope it does well at the box office. Maybe garner some nominations as well. I think Kazan deserves one for acting or writing (or both).

Saw the movie today and loved every minute of it. This instantly goes down as one of my favorite romantic movies. Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan are brilliant in this and the concept was fantastic. This is one of the biggest surprises of the year and will always be a gem of a movie. And if you aren't already in love with Zoe Kazan, you will be. Ruby Sparks is a must see. 8.5/10.
