I thought everyone knew it existed, but FRD hadn't officially announced the games existence.

Yes they had, they said so in one of the PlayStation Magazines awhile back.

I _almost_ kept my original Xbox just so I wouldn't have to give up TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Bring on #4, 60fps like the others and 1080p this time please!

I still have the original timesplitters, and I enjoyed it. Will keep a lookout for this game.
