Default Intel 2.4 ghz quad core or 3.0 ghz dual core

I am building a PC for a friend and he decided he wanted it Blu Ray capable.

Phillips SPD700 Blu Ray burner
nVidia 8800 gts 640mb
Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard
Intel 1.86 core 2 duo
2gb ram

Cyberlink advisor says the processor is too slow. When I play a blu ray it maxes the CPU out and stutters unusable.

I was going to get a quad 2.4 ghz, but another friend recommended a 3.0 ghz dual core.

I don’t know which would give better performance.

Thanks for any advice,
-Jeff
