Didn't Acer announce at IFA that they were supporting HD-DVD making them dual format? Right after they announced they were joining the BDA.

It's pretty simple. Both Toshiba and Microsoft are in bed together. Both are aggressive marketers and business people. Both will do things that are unethical and will continue to do so until the courts declare them illegal. They were made for each other.

Then they find Paramount who is in it for a fast buck. Probably figured the 150 million was more than the projected income from both formats. All three of these places prove that customers do not come first. All that matters is some greedy ass kisser telling them, "But it makes us money. It's ok as long as WE make MONEY."

Microsoft is a bully. Buying out technologies it wants and doesn't want. Dumbing down the ones they keep, and eliminating the competiton of those they just want out of the way. "Reorg" Happens all the time.

They believe they can buy their way into success. Done it before, why not now? Microsoft doesn't understand that although 95% of the world uses their software, they are not beloved. Anything with MS is not HOT, but probably avoided.

Don't get me wrong, Sony, Panasonic, and others are no saints. Business is business. But they are giving the customers want we want. For that, they will have my business for life.
